Growing Our Community
The Galion Community Foundation (GCF) is a permanent, charitable foundation established to improve the quality of life for the area citizens.
About The GCF
The Galion Community Foundation (GCF) was formed in 1957. It is a charitable organization pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax deductible.
Through its all volunteer board, the GCF administers over twenty (20) different funds and is always willing to add additional special funds or accept donations to its general fund. Thirteen of the funds provide scholarships; the rest assist local charities.
Unless otherwise directed by donors, the GCF seeks to preserve the principal of the funds. Money donated will earn income in perpetuity to benefit our area students and community.
General Fund Requests Due March 1, 2023
The GCF will hold its annual meeting in March, 2023. For consideration at the GCF Board’s annual meeting, general fund requests must be submitted in writing by 5:00 P.M., March 1, 2023, to the Chairman or Secretary of the GCF Board. Click here for submission details.
Our Purpose
The Foundation was organized January 15, 1957. Its purpose was, and still is, to afford a vehicle for those of modest as well as greater means to make gifts, devises, and bequests to provide financial assistance toward meeting various area needs such as charitable, educational, cultural, scientific, and recreational endeavors.
Since 2001, the GCF has provided for distributions of nearly $600,000.00, and over $200,000.00 from our various scholarship funds. We extend a huge “Thank You” to all donors for helping to keep a good thing going.
